50MW turbine order for V126 machines optimised to 3.6MW.Vestas is to supply turbines totalling 50MW to Aluar Aluminio Argentino’s El Llano wind farm in Argentina.

The order is for 14 V126 3.45 machines optimised to 3.6MW to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.
Commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018.

The project will be located in Chubut close to aluminium smelter Aluar’s facilities.

The deal also includes installation, as well as a 15-year active output management 5000 service agreement.

Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said: “The project is another example of how wind energy can meet high energy demands at a low cost and hereby help Argentina and other countries achieve their renewable energy targets.”
The company said it has signed deals for over 500MW in Argentina in the last six months.
